Fortnightly update 27: 07.12.2020 to 20.12.2020
In this blog series, I share my fortnight-to-fortnight triumphs (and failures) as a writer. Despite all the ups and downs, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Flash fiction and short stories
I’m currently submitting flash fiction and short stories to online magazines and such for publication. This fortnight, I wrote one of my favourite short story yet, and I’ve submitted it to New Gothic Review. Fingers crossed!
Frontier Media
I write scripts for Frontier Media, a media production company specialising in YouTube. Our two largest channels are The Front and Geetsly’s, and while I’ve written for Geetsly’s in the past, I mostly write for The Front. Two videos for which I wrote the scripts were uploaded this fortnight.
The Jerk’E’Club
It’s been a while, but I wrote Chapter 10 of Tales of the Jerk’E’Club this fortnight. I get plenty of creative freedom working for the Jerk’E’Club, so it’s always a good time. If you like salty meat, check it out.
I write 280-character stories using various writing prompt hashtags on Twitter, and I also host #WeirdVSS. This fortnight I wrote just two stories.
#queen
While they obsess over her in the millions, I’m the only one she loves back. I knew it when she squeezed me out of her pale, bloated abdomen. I was special, even if I was in all but soul identical to my many, many kin. I’d do anything for her. Long live the queen.
#king
Nothing can fill the void you left in our king-sized bed. Believe me, I’ve tried. The dog was okay, but it, uh, died. The cat didn’t last a day. I just wish I hadn’t tried the horse out before I realised duct-taping you to the damn mattress was the simplest solution.
Conclusion
Things have actually been pretty cruisy lately, and I feel like I deserve it. It’s been a hard year (on everyone, yeah), and it’s nice to have a little spare time to get owned by bots in chess, catch blowfish, and watch True Detective.
