Fortnightly update 3: 06.01.2020 to 19.01.2020

While I’ve kept a crude text file diary for a few years now, I’m now going to summarise the happenings of my life in fortnightly blog posts like this one and share them to both Facebook and LinkedIn. This will allow me to be consistent with how I share my progress as a writer and editor, while also improving my reflection process. I’ll post the fortnightly updates on either Sundays or Mondays, though if anything dinosaur-huge happens, I may still make separate posts about it; these fortnightly posts are more about my fortnight-to-fortnight triumphs.

Geetsly’s (Star Wars)

While I write mostly for The Front, I also started preparing to write for the popular Star Wars YouTube channel Geetsly’s. FYI, The Front and Geetsly’s were both founded by the same guy.

A big part of my preparation is watching The Clone Wars, though I also listened to a Star Wars: Darth Plagueis audiobook. It was incredible. Do yourself a favour and at least listen to the sample.

The Front

I write scripts for the popular YouTube channel The Front.

While we only uploaded one video this week, I finished the script about the Polish people in World War II and wrote scripts about McNamara’s Morons (Project 100,000), Britain’s MI19, and the true strength of the French people in the war.

I also started managing The Front History Facebook page and The Front History Instagram account (which is brand new) and made unique posts to both. I’d love for you to follow both!

Project Bronze

Project Bronze is coming along nicely! Roderick Fernandes actually worked on the cover art during an art course held by industry professionals. It’s not done, however, so I’ll wait until he’s happy with it before I share it with you.

Perhaps the biggest update of all, Project Bronze, our semi-secret D&D project, will now feature goats. Try to contain yourself.

fiction_shots

This fortnight, I posted two fiction_shots pieces on both Instagram and Twitter.

The first was about a witch.

Hordes of humans she had bending and sweating before her, all of them caught in her most wicked of spells. Through the air of her terrible and tremendous studio her cackle flew, and under the weight of the word that followed, her prisoners fell, spines on their mats, quiet as corpses. And that word, all ye with minds still your own, was “shavasana,” and that cruel enchantress was none other than the dreaded Yoga Witch, to whom all the world shall bow and sweat.

And the second was about, well… [Twitter #vss365 word #languor]

As so often I had seen her felled on the couch in enchanted languor, I thought little of the syringe in her vein and left her to dream. But through my own dream pervaded a stench, and I woke to find swollen and cold all but her cheeks, which were lifted in smile.

Conclusion

My energy was scattered every which way this fortnight, but that’s the way I like it. Monotony is the bane of the creative. Though, in saying that, all I really do is sit in front of my laptop and occasionally go out for a Guinness.

Thanks for reading. May the Force be with you.
