Fortnightly update 83

13.02.2023 to 26.02.2023

My journey as a copywriter and fiction writer.

This fortnight, I continued to work on a product launch with a client, read a story on stage, and honestly, I didn’t get up to much more than that 😅

Copywriting

Basically, I’ve been sinking all my energy into one big project as of late. We’re about 70% of the way there, I think, and I’m bloody keen to share it with you all. Hopefully, I’ll be able to do that by about mid-March.

Until then, I’m keeping the project on the down low.

Going forward, I’ve gotta come up with a solid project management system. That way, my clients and I can stay on the same page with larger projects.

I’ve also gotta set clearer windows in which to work on client projects because my general business upkeep has taken a serious hit over these past few weeks. I haven’t been active on LinkedIn, and all the fiddly tasks are piling up and up and up.

Not much more to say than that for now, really!

Fiction

As above, I’ve been flat out with client work, so my fiction has also taken a pretty hefty hit. I’m chipping away, ever so slightly, at a few short stories, but other than that it’s pretty quiet on this front.

I did perform another story at Once Upon a Time in Fremantle last Thursday, though.

It went great, and the night was awesome overall.

I think my first two performances were filmed, so I’ll try and find that footage for my next post.

Thoughts

Alrighty, let’s not beat a dead horse! I don’t have much else to share with you this fortnight.

I guess the only other thing is Paddy and I are talking more and more about getting season two of our podcast Spinning Yarns with Nick & Paddy up and running. It has been far too long, and we’re thinking of just releasing episodes when we can, rather than sticking to a strict upload schedule. It’s just too much bloody work.

More on that soon!

Thanks for reading 🖤
