Fortnightly update 89

08.05.2023 to 21.05.2023

My journey as a copywriter and fiction writer.

This fortnight, nothing outstanding happened, but I worked on heaps of different projects and got a whole lot done. This’ll be a short one.

Copywriting

I did almost nothing with my fiction this fortnight, but in terms of my copywriting, I was productive as hell.

One of the most time-consuming things I did was choose and then set up a CRM (a customer relationship management program). I didn’t even know what these were two weeks ago, and I didn’t think I needed one. But ever since settling on Freshsales and putting all my contacts into the program, I don’t know how I ever did business without a CRM. So many opportunities were slipping through the cracks, but now none are.

I’ve also been attending District 32’s 4-Week Sales Accelerator course, which is held online once a week. That’s what inspired me to set up a CRM, and I’m getting a tonne of value out of the course in other ways as well. Like, I hadn’t actually defined my sales pipeline — that is, how I get, nurture, and convert leads. Putting that all down on paper, so to speak, has been empowering.

As for the title “Irons in the fire,” I say this because I’ve got so many projects and potential collaborations on the go right now.

To name a few, I just started a new website copywriting project through Aligned Agency, I’ve been editing a friend’s ebook and we’re talking about putting together a special offer, I’ve been having loads of 1:1 meetings (which could lead to great opportunities), and I’m still doing website reviews for people (see my most recent one below).

It’s been a busy, busy boy, and I’m really starting to see the results of my hard work.

Thoughts

Some fortnights, I have tangible victories to share. Others, I’m mid-grind, heading towards said victories.

This fortnight was one of the latter.

I can’t wait to share some wins in a couple of weeks.
